As a continuation of the Arab Poetry Year 2023 initiative, and inspired by the stories of poets and coffee, which have a deep-rooted connection in our culture-filled gatherings, we are pleased at Roasting House to launch our new specialty Saudi coffee, which we have named "Al-Shaqra."

Al Shaqraa?

We named it "Al-Shaqra" due to its luxurious blonde color, which is characteristic of the distinctive coffee of the central region, and in celebration of our rich Arab heritage, which has been mentioned in the diwans of poetry throughout the ages.

The Idea of the Coffee: 

Arabic coffee is a common theme in Arab poetry, as it plays a vital role in conveying a message in many Arabic poems. For example, the poet Khalaf bin Hatthaal, a poet from the Utaybah tribe, said:

"سوولي الكيف وارهو لي من الدلة                   البن الأشقر يداوي الراس فنجالـه
  كيف لنا نحرقـه بالنـار وانزلـه                          واليا انقطع لو ورى صنعاء عنيناله "

We visited the farm of Uncle Hassan Al-Maliki, who honored us with his hospitality and generosity, 

This Saudi blonde coffee is grown on his farm, and it is a premium and unique production of Saudi coffee cultivated in the southern region of the Kingdom on organic plateaus.
