An extraordinary specialty coffee from the fertile lands of Costa Rica, La Chumeca is a single origin that best expresses the quality and aromatic richness of the territory.

Grown in San José de León Cortés, this coffee is obtained from Yellow Catuai variety plants and processed using a natural anaerobic method, which intensifies the sweetness and sensory complexity in the cup.

The tasting experience is unique: notes of grape envelop the palate with a sweet fruity acidity, followed by an elegant bitterness of cherry, while the finish closes with a enveloping aftertaste of cocoa.

Where’s it from

La Chumeca Micro-mill is a vertically integrated farm and mill owned by the Ureña family. They oversee the entire coffee production process, from harvest to drying. This integrated system allows them to closely monitor production and ensure high-quality coffees. Martin Ureña, head of the family, works alongside his sons and other family members to manage both Finca La Chumeca and the La Chumeca Micro-mill. The Ureñas have been growing and processing coffee at La Chumeca since 2014. After selective handpicking, ripe red cherries are placed on raised beds to dry, and they are frequently raked to ensure even drying. The drying process takes an average of 21 days.
